George (Bill) W. Runkle III, MS, PE, SE
Biography

After serving in the military as a civil engineer for over two
decades, George established Runkle Consulting in 2000 to provide engineering support in the rapidly growing Atlanta housing market. During the 2008 recession.
Runkle Consulting shifted its focus to the
design of structures using refurbished shipping containers, a
practice he witnessed during his time with the U.S. Air Force in
central Asia during the Global War on Terror.
With an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from University of
Maryland and a Masters of Science in Civil Engineering from Columbia
University in New York, George is licensed in 31 states, plus several
provinces in Canada.
When he is not running Runkle Consulting, George enjoys eating at
Mexican restaurants, watching documentaries and spending time with
his parrot, Dewey. George’s father is the namesake of the American
Society of Plumbing Engineers George Runkle Award.
